Alexander McQueen S/S 2013

Alexander McQueen S/S 2013

I would say that this is by far my most favorite Alexander McQueen collection. It is so unique and amazingly done. The detailing on the garments are perfectly executed, the structure is just beautiful. This season sees the return of a heritage silhouette. Wasp waists and a constructed hip exaggerate a feminine silhouette. Signature tailored jackets are layered over jewelled, moulded resin bustier tops and sheer, mid-calf length honeycomb pencil skirts, or cropped panelled trousers.

A play between covering the body and discreetly exposing it is seen throughout as the transparent is juxtaposed with the opaque and garments peel away from necklines and shoulders. Lightness is paramount: intricately woven jacquards, lacquered lace and laser cut patent leather hover over silk organza. Cages, corsets and crinolines in various incarnations are worn as underpinnings or as finished, elaborately embellished pieces in their own right. Every aspect of the foundation garment and the transformation of the body that is a hallmark of the house of Alexander McQueen is explored. This is the true Alexander McQueen collection we've been waiting for.

"The collection is a study of femininity. We looked at erotica. Vargas girls, cages, corsets and crinolines and the idealisation of the female form. Nothing is set in a particular period. It's about sensuality and skin but not nudity. We also wanted to express lightness, for the clothes almost to hover over the women who wear them. "

Fashion Review: Out with the Old and in with the New

One of my favorite, favorite designers is Badgely Mischka. The collection was amazing. Their fashion show took place in New York City in association with Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. This collection was beautiful, stunning, and elegant. I love how they design women's clothes, it is just exquisite. The runway was simple, little to simple for me, I love drama in a fashion show, it brings out who the designers are as designers. It also makes an extraordinary experience. But Badgely Mischka's designs are amazing. Check them out

Their designs are beautifully done, amazing detail, and structure. I have always admire his work, it's just pure amazingness (if that's even a word). I am glad there are designers like them in our world. Though their runways are a bit simple, my favorite designers with amazing fashion shows are Alexander McQueen, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Dior. They are by far the best fashion shows ever. They are so dramatic, edgy and just amazing to watch. Makes you want to buy the clothes right then and there! If you do not believe me, take a look below as I post the most amazing fashion shows ever!

I love MCQ by Alexander McQueen! This fashion show is one of my favorites to watch because the clothes are edgy and neutral and just amazing! I absolutely love the finale, so epic!

Ah Chanel, Chanel, Chanel! I absolutely love Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld is a pure genius when it comes to designing such beautiful garments. His fashion shows are huge, literally the runway is amazingly huge but beautiful, it was taken at Versailles Palace Garden in France. Ain't it amazing?

Ah I love this carosel fashion show by Louis Vuitton and of course I have to point out that the fabulous Marc Jacobs is the creator of this seasons Louis Vuitton fashion show with the amazing pastel and minty colors. Very rococo inspired. Loved every bit of it. So amazing!

Last but not least DIOR! J'adore Dior. I have always loved Dior when John Galiano was the mastermind behind Dior, but the fashion shows have died done a bit, but when John Galiano was the designer for Dior, his fashion shows were AMAZING! Soo dramatic, he captured drama very good in his fashion shows! His most dramatic shows was when he did Haute Couture.
